The VBX+ is Boss's latest hopper spreader, and it's a leap forward for contractors who track material usage. Standard rate control lets you set precise flow rates and spread widths, so you're not wasting salt on a warm night or under-treating before a freeze. Job tracking logs material per site — which makes billing accurate and keeps your margins honest. Available in 1.5, 2, and 3 cubic yard capacities with auger or pintle feed.

VBX+ Spreader FAQ
What size VBX+ spreader fits my truck?
The 1.5-yard VBX+ is sized for 3/4- and 1-ton pickups, and the 3-yard needs a truck of 15,000 lb GVWR or more. Whether a 2-yard fits depends on your truck's payload with the hopper full, so we check that for your exact truck.

How long does my truck bed need to be?
Boss calls for at least a 66" bed for the 1.5-yard VBX+, 78" for the 2-yard and 96" for the 3-yard.

Can the VBX+ share wiring with my Boss plow?
Yes. With Boss's Cold Front system, a Boss plow and a VBX+ spreader can share one truck harness, so there's less wiring behind the grille.

What are rate control and job tracking?
Rate control keeps your application rate where you set it, and job tracking records how much material you used at each site — handy for billing customers. The VBX+ is also compatible with Boss's AutoSpread, which adjusts output to your ground speed.

What warranty comes with a new Boss plow or spreader?
Complete Boss plows and spreaders carry Boss's 2-year limited warranty covering parts and labor from the date of purchase. Separately purchased parts and accessories are covered for 1 year, parts only. The warranty applies to the original buyer from an authorized dealer like us and doesn't transfer to a later owner — one more reason to buy new from a dealer.
